What is Chia?
Chia Seeds come from a desert plant called Salvia Hispanica, available as Black Chia and White Chia, offering amazing health benefits both internally and when used topically. These tiny, edible seeds are one of the highest-known plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids, plus they're a source of fibre, protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Chia seeds themselves are actually flavourless, so they can be sprinkled over savoury dishes such as salads, used to make sweet puddings and even blended into smoothies. The nutritional benefits of Chia seeds means they also make an amazing ingredient in natural skin care, working to replenish and rehydrate the skin thanks to their water retention abilities - Chia Seeds can hold up to 12 times their weight in water, which is why they swell and expand when placed in water.
