Sven's Island

Sven's Island

About Sven's Island

Sven lives on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand, which is a remote island to the North-East of Auckland. One day in 1985, after hearing the story of a Manuka Tree splinter that had lodged in a local boy's eye and yet left the eye perfectly healthy when it was removed, Sven's curiosity led him to discover that many of the native plants on the island possessed therapeutic properties not previously identified. He began to experiment with beeswax from his hives and herbal plant extracts, and before long developed his own unique recipes for his friends and family to enjoy. Family member, Mark, finally convinced Sven to share his knowledge and expertise with the wider world, which has resulted in a no-nonsense range of 100% natural personal care products that feature the remarkable healing properties of the plants on Sven's island.

Sven's Island is committed to creating perfectly pure and effective products of the highest natural quality while putting the welfare of the environment, its customers and the community first. All of the native ingredients used are wild-harvested, while the eco-system of the island is protected by careful monitoring of regrowth. All other ingredients are sourced from trusted suppliers who also work to protect the environment.

Sven's Island is also committed to improving the lives of those living in rural poverty. Every purchase of a Sven's Island product gives those in poverty the chance of a better quality of life.
