About Madara

Harsh chemicals in cosmetics can irritate your skin and harm your health. That's why organic skincare is so important, and why Madara creates skincare and cosmetics that are natural and organic. Crafted from Northern Baltic plant extracts, all Madara skincare products and cosmetics are safe for your skin, and 99% are certified natural and organic by ECOCERT to take care of both your beauty and your health.

Madara's commitment to safe, natural skincare and cosmetics comes from experience. Upon experiencing an allergic reaction to an eye cream, Lotte Tisenkopfa-Iltnerethe, current CEO of Madara, discovered just how many unhealthy ingredients cosmetics can contain and threw all of hers away. Her subsequent unsuccessful search for eco-cosmetics in Latvia led her to first make cosmetics for herself at home, but she soon realised she was not alone in her desire for natural, healthy skin products. Seeing the potential, Lotte teamed up with Zane Rugina and founded Madara Cosmetics in Latvia in July 2006.

Madara offers a range of naturally derived beauty products, from its Madara Anti-Pollution City CC Cream SPF 15 that offers natural, broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, to its Madara Grow Volume Shampoo, nourishing your hair with Vitamins B3 (Niacin) & B7 (Biotin) that are essential for growth.

Scientific validation is required for every selected ingredient and final product, and Madara insists on using only truly effective ingredients, making honest claims, using environmentally friendly packaging, and showing care and respect for its customers. Madara never tests its products on animals.
