Tell us about Power Superfoods and how you came about?
After travelling the world experiencing many different cultures first hand, the two co-founders came up with the idea of bringing some of the wonderful superfoods they had encountered to the Australian marketplace. They pioneered the importation of super food products to both enhance their own wellness and to introduce Australians to some wonderful superfoods only available from far reaching indigenous cultures. It all started around a kitchen table and over time has expanded to be a much larger business employing many people.
What is a 'superfood'?
A superfood is a food that is densely nutritious, easy to absorb by the body and innately good for you.
What does it mean to be certified organic? And why is it important that the superfoods we eat be certified organic?
To be certified organic all aspects of the food including source, cultivation, handling, importing, storing, packing, and distribution need to be conducted in an βorganicβ or pesticide/chemical free way. The ACO reviews the processes of all the above aspects and confirms that each is done in such a way that the product remains untouched by any pesticides/chemicals/impurities and once confirmed they provide the certification. It is essential that we consume organic products to reverse all the environmental damage affecting our health.
How do you ensure your products are sustainably and ethically grown, harvested and distributed?
By thoroughly investigating the operations of our suppliers and their farming methods, as well as visiting them in their home countries, we can determine if they meet our expectations in regards to quality, sustainability and ethical trade.
Why should we include superfoods into our diet?
Superfoods are the easiest way to incorporate amazing nutrition into your diets. They are so nutrient dense without the empty calories you may expect from everyday foods. Many also have amazing antioxidant benefits that far outweigh other sorts of wholefoods, and who doesnβt want to live as long and as healthily as we can, to be without ailments and ill health??

Wellness and vitality, and a whole bunch that government regulations wont let us share! lol.
Do you have any tips for incorporating superfoods into our diet?
The easiest way to incorporate superfoods into your diets are smoothies! Whatever smoothie you like to eat you can simply add a spoonful of chia, cacao, Superblast, Gojis, Acai, Maqui, Maca, Maqui and instantly you have a super nutritional smoothie. You can include the seaweeds into any hot pot, casserole or salad, even dust the top of your margarita glass with the flakes. Coconut sugar is the perfect substitute for regular sugar, with a much lower GI.

If you're feeling under the weather, or a bit run down, try this 'Winter Warmer'
Serves 6 β 8
Ingredients:
6 cups water or vegetable stock
1/8 cup mixed SEAWEED ~ eg. Wakame or Dulse Flake
1 leek, finely sliced
1 Tbsp fresh ginger, minced
2 stalks celery, diced
1 small zucchini, diced
2 carrots, diced
1 Tbsp coconut oil
2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
2 -3 Tbsp tahini
4 Tbsp miso (preferably shiro)
Peruvian Pink Gourmet Salt to taste
Method:
1. Soak seaweeds in water or stock while preparing the remaining ingredients.
2. Heat liquid to almost boiling. Add leeks, celery, carrots and ginger, simmer for 5 minutes over low heat.
3.Add zucchini and coconut oil. Simmer until veggies are tender, 5-7 minutes.
4. Remove 1/4 cup of liquid and blend with tahini, nutritional yeast and miso. Add back to the soup and remove from heat.
Taste before adjusting seasonings or adding salt.
TIP: Never allow miso to boil, this will destroy the enzymes and life force.
