We are obsessed with natural deodorant at Nourished Life! With more and more development in 'green science' there is now so many great [and effective!] options on the market. We've recently added the new Aussie made Axilla Deodorant Paste to our range and we couldn't wait to road-test it against the Soapwalla Deodorant Cream from the US.

Here is Aimee-Lili's review:

I was sceptical (and a little confused to be honest!) of the thought of rubbing paste under my arms at first and I didn’t expect it to work as well as a spray or roll on, but I was totally surprised!
These pastes were just as as effective, if not more effective than so many of the supermarket deodorants I've used in the past, and now I can’t use anything else!

First off Soapwalla’s Deodorant Cream - this is the original natural deodorant and I couldn't wait to try it! It is scented using lavender, peppermint and tea tree essential oils giving it a nice ’fresh’ scent. It was easily to apply but it did get a little clumpy so I had to rub it in a bit. I love that it’s made from superfine vegetable powders and clays, which absorbed any moisture that developed during the day and left me feeling fresh and dry. After exercising I did need to reapply which was a bit messy as I felt I need to ’wash’ under my arms before rubbing my hands in there!

Next I trialled the Black Chicken Remedies Axilla Deodorant paste [which we stock at Nourished Life.] This is also scented with essential oils, and smells like a fresh chai latte! Combined with beautiful spices such as cloves, it wasn’t too sweet smelling or overpowering. This paste was easily applied and did not ’clump’ as much as Soapwalla.

I wore this paste for a couple days and it was extremely effective in completely neutralising odour and keeping me smelling fresh and feeling dry. Then I put it to the ultimate test - I wore it to bikram yoga (also know as sweat central) and believe it or not, it held up! No, it didn’t stop me from sweating in 35 degree heat but I came out still smelling like that chai latte. I was extremely impressed with this all natural, organic paste and love that it is vegan and handmade in Australia!

If you haven’t swapped your regular deodorant for a natural version because you’re worried it won’t be as effective, you need to try the Axilla paste! It works and smells amazing, contains no aluminium, alcohol or parabens and does not chemically inhibit your body’s natural process of producing sweat.

I also want to mention that after a few days of wearing both pastes, the skin under my arms and surrounding areas felt a lot less irritated and dry, and they didn’t even sting to apply after shaving! This made me feel like using a paste or a cream is a lot more nourishing to the skin than sprays or roll ons.
