What is Biotin?
Biotin is part of the vitamin B family, also known as vitamin B7. Biotin is water-soluble, and our bodies aren't actually able to store much of it and the other B-group vitamins. Biotin is needed by the body for energy & amino acid metabolism, as well as fat & glycogen synthesis. As part of the B-group vitamins, Biotin helps the body to use fuel (such as carbohydrates and protein) to create energy.1
Biotin benefits
Biotin is naturally found in a wide range of fresh produce ’ this means that Biotin deficiency is rare, but signs may include dry skin and hair loss. It's recommended to consume adequate amounts of B-group vitamins as part of a balanced and nutritious diet.1 Biotin can be consumed orally through your food and through vitamin supplements, but it can also be incorporated into your everyday hair care routine to naturally support healthy hair!
