Certified Organic
Certified Organic products are products which have been made or formulated without the use of ingredients containing pesticides and unnatural chemicals. Use of the term 'Organic' is loosely controlled around the world, making Certification a trusted source of assurance. A brand may claim its products to be Organic without having to prove the truthfulness of this information to an official or authoritative body. Organisations which provide Certification include the international COSMOS Organic standard, USDA Certification in the US, and Australian Certified Organic.
For a product or range to be labelled Certified Organic, it generally must have been tested and approved by an official Certification body to meet certain standards and regulations. Skin care, makeup, health and home products labelled 'Certified Organic' or with a seal of Certification have been approved by relevant national or international regulatory bodies, which are sometimes government run, and given authorisation to use this term on packaging and marketing materials.
