Diva Cup was founded by Francine Chambers and Carinne Chambers in response to their desire to create more sustainable period products. Their vision for the Diva Cup has gone well beyond their expectations, with their brand now becoming the household name for all menstrual cup products. The Diva Cup company is one that Nourished Life is so proud to stock, as their priorities align with ours for sustainability and an environmentally friendly future.
What is a Diva Cup, you may be thinking? Well, it's a silicone cup around the same size as a small shot glass, but in the shape of a tulip with an extended stem. To use it, simply pinch and fold the Diva Cup with your thumb and forefinger and push it top-first into your vagina. You can then use the stem to adjust the position, tugging gently to allow for suction and keep it in-situ. This stem is also what's used to remove the Diva Cup when you're ready to take it out. Once removed, we recommend emptying and cleaning your Diva Cup by first washing and then sterilising it in a pot of boiling water.
Moulded with medical-grade silicone Diva Cup Australia is made from the same material approved for healthcare products for over fifty years. They are free from latex, plastic PVC, acrylic, acrylate, BPA, phthalate, elastomer, polyethylene, and colours and dyes - meaning your vagina is safe from any harmful chemicals. This ingredient list also means that the Diva Cup is a high quality period cup that is completely biocompatible. Leak free and good for the planet? Sign us up!
To find the right Diva Cup size for you, you simply need to know whether or not you've given birth vaginally or if you're over 30 years if. If you have, go for the Diva Cup Model 2. If you're under 30 and haven't given birth vaginally then opt for the Diva Cup Model 1.
