The benefits of drinking fresh juices is no secret. In the form of juices we can consume a whole lot of nutrients and vitamins very quickly and people are now opting to make fresh juices at home to ensure that they get all these health benefits without any harmful effects of preservatives and artificial sugars present in most pre made juices. And to make your own fresh juices you need a juicer! So I've done the homework for you and done a comparison of the two best cold pressed juicers on the market so you can easily decide which is best for you!
What is a cold press juicer?
Cold press juicers are simply superior to conventional centrifugal juicers. The quality of juice produced by the cold press juicer is also much better both in terms of taste and colour. Cold press juicers produce a much more vibrant coloured-juice which also rich in flavour as compared to juice from conventional juicers.
How does a cold press juicer work?
The magic behind a cold press juicer is the gentle press action present in the cold press juicers. This action ensures that very little pulp remains as residue and that too in a very dry state as almost all the juice is extracted. In this way all the nutrients, vitamins and goodness of a fruit is extracted in the form of juice. The gentle pressing action results in a much higher yield which means you can extract the maximum possible juice from the fruit in a single go.
Another important factor that needs to be considered while choosing a juicer is the ease of cleaning. As you want to clean the juicer as much as possible, you should prefer a juicer that doesn't require lengthy cleaning procedure which may leave you tired and not wanting to make juice again. Cold press juicers, unlike the conventional juicers, do not possess any large blades or metal meshes which require thorough cleaning. Most of the parts in a cold press juicers can be easily cleaned by simple rinse.
So which one is better: the Oscar Neo or the Kuvings?
Now let's compare the latest models of two of the best cold press juicer brands out there: the Oscar Neo and the Kuvings. The Kuvings B6000 has the longest feed shoot of 3 inches. To match this feed shoot, you need to have a larger auger and a larger motor. Kuvings B6000 juicing machine has a fast and quite 240 watt motor. On the other hand The Oscar Neo DA-1000 Cold Press Juicer is considered to be the most advanced single-gear cold press juicer out there. It is designed with latest technology and works gently at around 80rpm which ensure that no foam or froth is produced.
The horizontal design of the Oscar Neo DA-1000 means it is very effective in juicing all kinds of fruits and vegetables resulting in high juice yield and little froth. It leaves very little, dried pulp extracting as much juice as possible. Kuvings B6000 makes compromise on the yield. It produce juices much faster than the Oscar Neo DA-1000 but the juice it leaves some of the larger chunks behind between the auger and housing which results in a reduced yield.
Oscar Neo DA-1000 is called 'Ultem tough' because the auger, juicing and mincing strainer in it are made from a new material, Ultem, which is a much more solid and wear resistant, FDA Registered Food Grade Polycarbonate. Kuvings advantage over Oscar Neo is its ease of cleaning. It incorporates three cleaning brushes with the juicer. And these cleaning tools are very effective for the screen which is probably the hardest part to clean. You just need to place the screen under water and rotate it, the brushes will do the rest.
For the people out there who are time conscious, there is another important difference between the Oscar Neo and the Kuvings B6000 i.e. with the narrow chute of the Oscar Neo DA-1000, you need to cut the fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces before juicing. However, the Kuvings B6000 doesn't require any such thing. You can get similar amount of juice without cutting the fruits short. The juice also looks very similar to the one from the Oscar Neo.
A drawback of choosing Kuvvings B6000 is its part are significantly bulkier than those of the Oscar Neo and this make it more cumbersome to carry, store or clean. Both these juicers are designed using the latest technology and are quite innovative and easy to use. They are quite powerful but still very quite. So you can make juice without disturbing others with a loud noise. Another important factor which many of us consider is the price of the juicers. Oscar Neo DA-1000 costs around $529 whereas the price of Kuvings B6000 is $599. There is not much of a difference.
To be honest, both these juicers are quite amazing. Either of them has its own benefits and drawbacks. We have tried to present them to you. It totally depends on your preferences which juicer is better for you. If you are time conscious and want a quick juicer than Kuvings B6000 is a good choice. On the other hand if you want a lighter juicer which provides you with a better yield than the Oscar Neo DA-1000 is the way to go. Kuvings costs slightly more, but with it you don't need to cut the fruits and directly get juice very quickly.
