Lee Holmes, founder of Supercharged Food and author of nine cookbooks, raided my pantry and found all of the health products which could help provide support for me during the silly season when I might over-indulge... here's what Lee recommended for me to make a supercharged smoothie to get me through the holiday period!
I have a heaped teaspoon every morning in my smoothie. When I don't take it, my jeans feel tight. It's my number one product – it has no flavour.
I normally take the WelleCo The Super Elixir Alkalising Greens but this is an affordable alternative. I get a buzz from either of them. Love my greens powder in my morning smoothie for energy!
I am obsessed with SuperFeast powders, especially Tremella. According to Lee, they actually work as a prebiotic, feeding the good bacteria in the gut. Tremella tastes the best to me – not that funny mushroom taste, it actually tastes like cupcake mix! You can find out more about why I love mushrooms so much in my podcast with the SuperFeast founder – Everything You Need to Know About Medicinal Mushrooms – listen here!
Lee says The Beauty Chef inner beauty supplements are great for adding nutrients, prebiotics and probiotics into my daily diet. According to Lee, the BODY Powder can actually be taken together with the Supercharged Food Love Your Gut Powder to help absorb all those good nutrients. I love the Chocolate flavour in the BODY powder – I use it as the base for my morning smoothie.
I actually prefer not to have this in my smoothie – I take it separately because it tastes so delicious!
If for some reason I don't have time to make my morning smoothie, I just pop the Love Your Gut Capsules in my bag so I can make sure I still get all those amazing benefits from the powder – just while I'm on the go.
