Our awesome marketing co-ordinator is totally obsessed with lipsticks, so I asked her to do a review on the Zuii Organic lipsticks for us. She compared the Cashmere which is a very soft neutral pink colour, to the deep red Wine, she even added comparison photos for us!
A Posy for Your Pout
Although I am a Zuii fan, and personally wear their mineral makeup and eye shadows I had not yet given the lipsticks a go. As a self-confessed lipstick junkie (over the years my collection has reached over forty), I have a pretty experienced set of lips. Reds, pinks, purples, oranges, matte, sheen, satin, cream; from L'Oreal to Lavera I've tried them all!
With all the fantastically extensive array of gorgeous colours to choose from Irene picked the contrasting tones of Cashmere and Wine for me.
Within bringing these lipsticks up to your lips you are instantly hit with the signature Zuii floral scent, which is a lovely prelude to the application as it both smells divine and reminds you that this lipstick really is made of flowers and other deliciously nourishing things like jojoba and sunflower oil.
With the smooth consistency in applying the lipstick and the sheen, soft layer of colour it leaves on your lips you can feel that these lipsticks are packed full of goodness being enriched with vitamins A and E for protection and moisturising the lips and aloe vera for hydration. It is rare that I am able to wear a lipstick without any sort of balm or gloss to prevent them drying out but with these I had no need as my lips felt fantastically creamed and conditioned.
The colour of both lipsticks is rich and creamy with a smooth and even application. The Cashmere is a slightly darker, rosier colour than the paler pink of the colour swatch online but I loved it anyway. The colour is vibrant but subtle enough for anyone to wonder if I was actually wearing lipstick or were my lips naturally that rosy pink! This colour is girly and gorgeous – a perfect pink for flirty first dates and cocktails with the girls. A subtle staple for your summer makeup.
The Wine is also a little different from the colour swatch, being a little more red than brown but again this is to an advantage! This colour is a sexy auburn-burgundy shade that was vibrant but not too loud on the lips – I would think this fantastic for daytime wear as well as a sexy addition to an evening outfit.
Regarding longevity of colour, both lipsticks were also really long lasting with the colour fading slowly and evenly – I didn't even think about needing a reapplication for at least an hour.
Overall these certified organic lipsticks are nourishing and beautiful and I have the compliments to prove it!
