Your Summer Skincare Essentials!

If you are living in Australia, then you will know that summer is well and truly amongst us! With this hot weather we are getting it's so important that we tweak our skincare routines accordingly. In winter our skin is a lot drier and requires products that have heavy moisturisers. However, in the warmer months our skincare needs to be all about sun protection and exfoliation! If you haven't already adapted your skincare to the new season, then I think you'll find this blog post very handy! I decided to put together a list of some of my summer skincare essentials that I recommend everyone use.

Natural Sun Protection

If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you will know how passionate I am about sun protection. Here I talk all about natural sunscreens if you are interested in learning more! With summer finally here it's so important that we don't forget to wear sunscreen every single day. Australia's rate of skin cancer is one of the highest in the world and that's because our UV rays are very strong. It's a fact that just 11 minutes in the Australian summer sun can cause sunburn. So we need to make sure we protect ourselves and our children! Being a natural skincare lover, I love using a natural sunscreen. They are free from any harsh chemicals and work by reflecting the suns rays rather than absorbing them.

With all sunscreens avoid contact with eyes and if irritation persists discontinue use. Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection. Wear protective clothing, hats and sunglasses when exposed to the sun, and stay in the shade where possible. Prolonged high-risk sun exposure should be avoided. Frequent reapplication and use in accordance with the directions is required for effective sun protection. Always read the label and use only as directed.

Natural Exfoliation

During summer when we are wearing more shorts, dresses and skirts it's nice to have silky, smooth skin. That's where a good exfoliator is needed to get rid of any dry, dead skin.
