Q&A with Rahua Amazon Beauty

Can you tell us a little bit about Amazon Beauty and your brand philosophy?

Amazon Beauty and Rahua are inspired by the Amazon rainforest and rainforest grown ingredients. And we believe in the power and the beauty of nature. We harness both in our quest to share beauty with the world.

What makes Amazon Beauty so unique?

Rahua products are 100% natural, efficacious, and contain pure ingredients hand made by tribal women deep in the Amazon rainforest. Our natural hair care products repair and beautify hair and skin using only ingredients from plants.

Tell us about your star ingredients and how they work together to create amazing hair (your volumising shampoo and conditioner are life changing!)

Our key ingredients are rainforest grown and, as we refer to them, "symbiotic". These symbiotic ingredients are pure and powerful. Rahua (ungurahua) oil heals and hydrates hair in an amazing way and simultaneously gives hair body and bounce. Another powerful ingredient now in our natural body care collection is Sacha Inchi. Sacha Inchi contains omega 3, great for the repairing and moisturizing the skin.

How was Rahua Ungurahua discovered?

During the 90's, our Founder Fabian Lliguin was in the Amazon rainforest doing environmental work for Ecoagents. While doing his work he met a group of women with long, beautiful hair and it was at that time when he was introduced to "Rahua" oil.

Why are natural ingredients better for our hair than chemicals?

The standard with synthetic cosmetics is to cover the surface. The difference with natural ingredients is that they penetrate further into and repair the hair and skin for a deep solution. Another important advantage is that natural ingredients do not contaminate the environment nor contaminate the human body. Natural ingredients do the work and promote truly healthy hair.

What hair types are suitable for the Rahua range?

Rahua is fantastic for all hair types. You will see the biggest transformation on dry and damaged hair. And Rahua conditioners are excellent for curls and fine hair. You will see a lift with Rahua!

Is the Rahua hair care range colour-safe? How?

Yes, there is a natural attraction between positive and negative. Color processed hair is charged with negative energy. The omega 9 molecules in Rahua products are very tiny and charged with positive energy. The process of chemical based hair coloring opens the hair's cuticle in order to send in the pigments. The colour enters the hair but, it will start leaving the hair even at the first shampoo. Especially when using harsh shampoos, the color pigments get washed away.

Colored processed hair contains a negative charge; at this point the positive Rahua-charged molecules will be attracted by the negative charge of processed hair, and will allow for the Rahua molecules to travel into the hair pushing and locking the artificial color pigments into hair allowing for the color to stay true and vibrant longer.

How should people be washing and conditioning their hair to get the most out of these products?

Depending on your type of hair, shampoo 2 - 3 times per week maximum. Co-wash in between shampoos with Rahua Omega 9 Hair Mask once a week. It is like hair insurance.

Can you tell us about how people can also use the Rahua conditioner as a styling paste?

Rahua Conditioner is one of our best sellers due to it's double duty powers. To work as a styling cream, it contains botanical wax which allows for the hair to stay in control maintaining the style all day long.

What are your three top tips for maintaining healthy hair?

1. Shampoo hair 2-3 times per week maximum with sulfate free shampoo

2. Protect hair with a natural serum or heat protector when styling.

3. Use oil-based hair treatments
